How to Apply
for a Marijuana Card in

Maryland!
  1. Obtain a written certification from a registered medical provider in Maryland. 

  2. Create an account with the Maryland Medical Cannabis Commission (MMCC). You can create an account online through the commission's website.

  3. Complete the patient registration form. This form will ask for your personal information, your medical provider's information, and your written certification.

  4. Beginning October 1, 2022 the charge for a Regular Patient Application was reduced to $25. The fee covers the payment for the Patient Registration and ID Card. The Patient Registration Expiration date has been extended to 6 years. The $25 fee is non-refundable.**

  5. The Application fee is waived for Patients enrolled in the Maryland Medicaid Program (Maryland Medical Assistance Program) and the VA Health Care Program (Veterans Affairs Maryland Health Care System) Please click on the link below for the requirements https://mmcc.maryland.gov/Pages/patients_regisadult.aspx

  6. Completed applications will be reviewed by MMCC and you will receive a follow up email advising whether or not your application has been approved. Please retain the approval email for your records. It contains your Username, which you will need to log in to the Patient registry (OneStop Portal), as well as your MMCC Patient ID Number, which your physician will need to issue your written certification for medical cannabis.

  7. Once you have a written certification, you will also need to provide your Patient ID Number when visiting a licensed dispensary to purchase medical cannabis.
