A caregiver must also undergo a background check, proving they have never been convicted of a felony. There is no annual registration fee to become a caregiver in New Mexico.
If you are applying to be a caregiver for someone under the age of 18, it is important to submit a copy of the patient’s birth certificate as part of your application.
