Qualifying Conditions - LOUISIANA
According to the Louisiana medical (therapeutic) marijuana program, the following are qualifying conditions that can allow a patient to be approved for a Louisiana medical marijuana card.
There are a number of amendments to the law that have been proposed that would expand the number of qualifying diagnoses.

There are current qualifying medical conditions to get a Louisiana medical marijuana ID card:

Autism spectrum disorders

Cachexia/wasting syndrome

Cancer
-
Crohn’s disease

Epilepsy
-
Glaucoma
-
HIV/AIDS
-
Intractable pain (defined as “pain so chronic or severe as to otherwise warrant an opiate prescription”)

Muscular dystrophy
-
Multiple sclerosis
-
Parkinson’s disease
-
Post traumatic stress disorder
-
Seizure disorders/spasticity
-
Severe muscle spasms
-
Any other condition not otherwise specified “that a physician, in his medical opinion, considers debilitating to an individual patient and is qualified through his medical education and training to treat” (effective 8/1/2020)
